Default The Designation Of The GMT ---> GTG in NYC

The GMT ist not only a beautiful but also a practical watch.
It has two timezones in one !

After arriving in a different timezone all you have to is to set the small hand hour by hour
to the local time and the red/green 24-hour-hand stays at your hometime.

Thats a nice attribute but it is useless if you always stay at home.

So to test the function all you need is an airplane.

Lufthansa was so kind to leave us one for a small charge:
The fleets grandpa "Thüringen" (whis is one of Germanys states)

Hannes was skeptical. Will there be a happy end... ?

    Come on, Hannes. Easy :D

Hm. The experiment should have started 20 minutes ago...

Hmmmmm. Actually half an hour ago...

    Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Actually 2 hours ago

    What happend?
The catering company LSG was moving its location at this day.

To make it short: After 2 hours waiting in the plane we left Frankfurt without catering.
On board you could choose between water, orange juice and red wine
added by a 4-cheese-pasta cooked to rags.

    Crossing the Rhein River.....

    ....passing ice and snow......

Are we in an different time zone now? Can we start the experiment?

Come one. Let´s do it !

The leg area had about 9°F

Lufthansa - there's no better way to fly.

Dirt and dust wherever you were looking, a non working Inseat System without sound - This flight was the worst we ever had

Where are we now? Rhein? Donau?

    Olympic Stadium in Munich?

No. It´s the old Giants Stadium next to new one.
And the river is not the Rhein, it´s the Hudson.

    We are in.....................

    ..... yessssssssss! NEW YORK!!!!

    Welcome !

    And here we go:
The 12-hour-hand shows local time - here 6:24 pm and the 24-hour-hand is set to CET: 0:24 am.
    Ain´t that easy?

Oh. There´s our Limo. If it is ok that we don´t have the LVs but the GMT LNs with us?

I guess no. Instead the S-Class we had to take a manky old Lincoln - matching our plane - which had not only the mirror botched

Yes. Parking is expensive here !

And you have to optimize the lots

    ESB is always watching you

Manhattan got cleaner. But not everywhere

Pic removed (HB) as picture of topless woman is visible....

Even the hydrants are showing the italian colors

    The weather changes

    back to the airport

    What is Hannes lookig for?

Aaaaah! The 747 "Bayern". This one is much nicer than the one that brought us here.

    Little more left

    "Stop!"

And so our GMT test finally comes to an end

Setting the time and back was very easy.
If you own a GMT you should try it once

    In this spirit......
