I have been looking to pick up my first watch here lately and also looking to get gifts for my groomsmen for my upcoming wedding. I thought it would be a neat gift and get a few neat pictures with all of us wearing the same watch. At first I planned on getting all of us the 8926. Then as I learned and read more I thought, I would get them the 8926 and myself something a little nicer like the 4469.

In my mind I thought the order of quality of these watches went:
8926, 9937, 4469

Where would the 3044, and what order do you think they go into?

I was pretty much all set on following that plan, until I stopped at JCP yesterday and saw the 8926 in person as well as the 3044. In person I thought the 8926 was a little lighter and didnt feel as well put together as the 3044. I really liked the extra size for the 3044. They had a sale 25% off + 10% off + $15 off. I went ahead and picked up 3 total (3 different stores around town). I was able to get the 3044 for about $160. I think I got quite a deal and will probably stick with what I got for everyone, but I had read a lot on all of these watches except the 3044, which is what I ended up with.

Did I make the right decision? Oh and the finance picked up a baby lupah too ;) Went from 0 cheese boxes to 4 in 1 day.

I would think the 3044 is just after the 8926 or of equal quality (both Japanese movements). The 9937 has a swiss movement and the 4469 is all swiss made. I believe you have your order correct.

It's not easy being cheesy.
The numbers of numbers is mind-boggling to be sure. If it's in the new catalog, I usually just go to the Invicta Site Search Page here, enter the model number and click Submit. Funny too is that Site page window shows 2008 Collection and the Taskbar shows INVICTA-2006 Collection when the same window is up on my monitor screen. Even then descriptions can be vague and often older numbers don't show up at all. That's when it's time to "Use the Google, Luke"...

@ tmerrick,

Any of them are a good choice and if the 3044s have similar MOP dials then all the guys should be equally thrilled. Most I'd ever gotten from going to a friends' wedding was my tux rental paid for, so those guys are indeed very lucky no matter what model you'd gotten them.

Welcome to the forum, congrats on the wedding, and no need to second-guess the decision you've made to get the 3044s for the guys. Regardless of order of good-better-best it's all subjective and one may have features the others do not have. Since you've already made the choice to buy the 3044s just keep in mind it's a beautiful gift to both give and to receive. I'd be happy with any of them, honestly.

Best wishes, for a happy and bright future with your new companion and life partner!

Welcome to the forum tmerrick. I would be going with the 9937 or the 4469 as Van had mentioned you would have a Swiss movement in both watches but of course your cost goes up. If you were to go that route I would make contact with Triton, Larry is a sponsor of the WTF and we try to support our sponsors as much as possible. You can find their banner at the top of the Invicta forum and you can send him a PM.
